I think the simplest way would be when you add Media, have a dropdown at the bottom of the add window to be able to add the media to a collection while you're adding it to EW.
Why is this feature important to you?
This would be a much faster process than the current if I know I'm going to add a video or image to EW and will also want it to be part of a collection I could do it all at one time instead of adding it to EW and then either dragging and dropping it to the collection or renaming it so it will filter to the collection.
