I would like the capability to link a specific alert to a specific slide such that the alert will automatically be displayed when the slide is selected
How would you like the feature to work?
On the slide editing dialog, provide a check box to enable alerts
to be played, and a drop-down menu to select the specific alert
to be played when the slide is selected during the service.
Why is this feature important to you? We have an alert that is to be played at a somewhat arbitrary time during the service. To play the alert, we're currently choosing and hiding the alert before the service starts, then during the service enabling the alert via CTRL +N -> Show, or clicking the Alert icon, then Show..
This is an issue because interacting with the alert dialog seems to make EZworship to forget which pane is 'active', and neither the cursor right nor page down keys have any effect. The solution seems to be to click in one of the panes after the alerts dialog is closed, but teaching this entire sequence of events to a volunteer can be problematic.
It would be much, much easier to have the alert linked to a specific slide such that when the slide is selected during the service, the alert is automatically played.
Another solution might be to map a specific alert to a hot key, which can easily be pressed at the appropriate time.
If there's something I've missed or misunderstood about the alert system, please let me know.
