Yes, you absolutely can. Go to the presentations tab and create a new presentation. Set your scenic picture as the background to your slide and then use the text box on the slide to type in any text you want. Give the presentation a title and then click OK.

We are using Easy worship version 6. Is there any way to insert an image in a schedule and then insert an overlay onto the image? If no, then how about inserting a test box onto the image in the schedule so that when you close the schedule, the original image is not affected and can be used in other schedules?
What I am trying to do is to use a backround scenic shot and then at various points have works like Welcome, Offering, Pray etc,. over top of the image?
