Hi, 

Does anyone know, is it okay to slightly massage song lyrics (e.g. for theological or seasonal reasons) of copyrighted worship songs during a worship service? 

Case in point: instead of singing 

Through clouds He will lead us
Straight into glory
And there He shall reign forevermore

singing this instead:

Through clouds He will meet us
Bringing his glory
And here He shall reign forevermore

If you are using CCLI their License specifically prohibits doing this. You can re=arrange the order of the verses, choruses, etc. but you can NOT change them.

This is expressly forbidden under their license if you are utilizing CCLI. The order of the choruses, verses, etc. can be changed.
