Song backgrounds, though beautiful and different when the schedule is created, appear are all black and words are white when presented  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Are they created on the same machine, or are they created on a different one and transferred over to the projection system? If the latter, make sure that the "Pack files in schedule" box is checked in the Save As Dialog Window so they are transferred over to the projection computer. Otherwise they might not be available to display.
