In EW6 on the scripture tab I have the reference option selected "not the magnifying glass", it will not search the books it only shows for example 'KJV' and no matter what I type it will not search in the books.

Thanks for asking about this.
On the right side you'll see a list of scriptures.
At the top of the scripture list, there are headings that you can click on to sort the scriptures.
Click on the Reference heading to sort by reference. Currently it's sorted by translation.
