Error MoveFile Failed: Code 183 Or DeleteFile Failed: Code 5 When Updating EasyWorship

Error Description:


The following errors appear when trying to update EasyWorship. This error is caused by the previous version not shutting down properly when the installer tells it to close. This issue has been fixed in EasyWorship 6 and EasyWorship 7 in later versions. 

C:\Program Files (x86)\Softouch\EasyWorship 7\Easyworship.exe

An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory: 

MoveFile Failed: Code 183. 

Cannot create file when that file already exists.


C:\Program Files (x86)\Softouch\EasyWorship 7\Easyworship.exe

An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory: 

DeleteFile Failed: Code 5. 

Access is denied.



Resolution:


On Windows 8 and 10, you'll need to disable FastBoot using Option 1.

On Windows 7, use Option 2 below.


Option 1

  1. Click Abort on the error message. (If you don't see the error right now, just go to step 2).
  2. Click on the Windows Logo Start button at the bottom left corner of your screen, type in Power Plan & click Choose a power plan.
  3. Click Choose what the Power buttons do on the left of the Power Options screen. 
  4. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
  5. Uncheck Turn on fast startup (recommended) under Shutdown settings below Power and sleep button settings.
  6. Click Save changes.  
  7. Shut down the computer.
  8. Turn the computer back on. 
  9. Download and reinstall the latest build of EasyWorship from the following links: EasyWorship 6 or EasyWorship 7
  10. You may now turn fast startup back on by following the instructions above and rechecking Turn on fast startup (recommended). 


Option 2

  1. Click Abort on the error message.
  2. Download and install LockHunter from the following website. https://lockhunter.com/downloadnow.htm
  3. Open the LockHunter app. 
  4. At the top of the program click the button with three dots on it and browse to 

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Softouch\EasyWorship 7\

    Or copy and paste the path above into the box and press Enter.
  5. Click the "Other" dropdown button at the bottom and click Delete At Next System Restart. 
  6. Reboot your computer.
  7. Download and reinstall the latest build of EasyWorship from the following links: EasyWorship 7
