Alternate Output is almost here!

You've been asking and we've been listening.
Coming soon to EasyWorship subscription: Alternate Output will finally be here to make your livestreaming even easier! Use the Main Output for your songs and sermons, Foldback for whoever is on stage, and Alternate Output for environmental in-house projection OR to give your online viewers a different display. It's entirely up to you. We love giving you as many options as possible so you can create the best worship experience for your church.

Thanks Eric

Please just give us the PLANNED release date. If it slips, fine, but it is tiresome being left out with no idea. Been 28 days since the original post that said "its almost here".

EW never announces when an update will go live. They just announce it WHEN it goes live. You'll just have to be patient like everyone else. EW moves at their own pace.

If you use VMix or OBS in conjunction with EW you can fake this with a little work. We use the VMix NDI Desktop capture app which is free and run it on the EW computer. It's been super reliable! It will make all screens and windows available to VMix or OBS via NDI. For EW, the foldback view provides the clean background on the lyrics and can be made transparent in VMix/OBS. The challenge for us is the CCLI info isn't included on the foldback, even as an option, and we need to include this in the livestream. So you can create a new template in EW that bumps the song background image up just a little so the CCLI info is in a solid color background at the bottom. Some may not like this aesthetically for in-house, so you need to decide for yourself. In VMix/OBS you can pull in both the foldback and the live view with image background into a single overlay for the livestream. Using the size and geometry controls in VMix/OBs you can crop and realign the two EW screens so they look as one with the background image cropped out. Once set up, it's easy to make the lyrics appear onscreen in the livestream. Other than the setup time, this new EW feature probably wouldn't change how we use VMix on the weekends nor would it change the EW operator duties. Maybe that helps someone.

Three questions:

1 - Will this update allow both NDI for the alternate and direct HDMI for the primary and foldback?  It seems like this is mentioned, but I haven't seen it clearly stated.

2 - Any updates on the release?

3 - Any estimates on the system specs that will be required with this release?  I am guessing it will take a little more horsepower than for v7.2...

Thanks Mike. This information I'm sure is helpful to a lot of people. The Alt. output in the upcoming release will allow you to send NDI directly to vMix (with the copyright info). That should make this setup a lot more simple.

Hi all Running 7.3 using midi works great except for 1. Schedule still not updating 2. In contiguous view it will not scroll the slides - it scrolls on schedule change but if the song slides go out of view so does the slide cursor when using midi Please fix both of these

Just to confirm, the 3rd output does not have to be NDI, right? Can it simply be another output on the video card?

Correct Craig. You have the same options as the front of house with choosing a monitor, custom position, or NDI.

Good to hear. We use all hardware for mixing and encoding. NDI might work with it, but prefer to not use it.

Since they haven't mentioned any new hardware specs for it I am 90% certain that it will use the current ULTRA or Recommended spec. Either that, or they are waiting for additional feedback from users in the Beta Program which I am not a part of as our Church does not have the Subscription plan.

As for your first question, that is the reason for this update to send an addition separate output while continuing to use the current three outputs we have now.

@Thomas Lutman, we are working with a small group of beta testers at this time and hope to have a public beta released soon. With this new version, the Main output, the Alternate output, and the Foldback will all be available to send to a monitor, custom position, and NDI. So, yes, as long as your computer has the video outputs and meets at least the recommended specs in our system requirements (Ultra if you use NDI on any of the outputs and have all 3 running), then you can run all 3 outputs at the same time.

Hello EasyWorship Community!

We are getting ready to release a new version that includes some new features, including Alternate Output and we would like some more beta testers. We have done a lot of private beta testing to clean up a lot of things in this new build and are ready to open the testing up to the public. Installing the beta will install separately from your current version and will not affect your current version. It will use the same database if you're using a profile called Default, so any changes made to your database in the beta, you will see those if/when you go back to your current version. Please make sure you are currently running the latest update available from our downloads page before installing the beta.

We do not recommend using this beta in a live service.

If you do find any bugs, have any questions, or have any suggestions, please comment on this post and we will be monitoring it.

Here is a basic list of the new features, enhancements, and fixes in this beta.

Hello Community,
For those of you testing the beta for the new release, or for anyone wanting to test the beta, here is a new beta build ready to be tested. We anticipate this being the final beta if all goes well. This will extend the expiration of the beta until Sept 30, 2021. To see all the changes coming up in this version of EW, please see original post above.
Here are the changes in this build:

-Fixed MIDI 'Goto Slide Start" bug

-Fixed issue with NDI showing black for PowerPoint on switchable Nvidia cards

-Fixed issue of PowerPoint showing background when advancing to another PowerPoint

-Fixed issue of EasyWorship deadlocking when closing

-Fixed issue of crashing when editing video or presentation properties

-Fixed issue with not being able to jump forward in audio files

-Fixed deadlocking issue in Presentation painter

-Fixed issue of PowerPoint not advancing after turning Black off in NDI

-Fixed multiple crashing bugs

Again, since this is a beta, you are at your own risk of running it in a live service, although it seems to be very stable at this point.
If you do run into any issues or bugs, please leave a comment here and we will see it and address it.

EasyWorship 7.3.0.10 Beta

So I just purchased EW7 today. Full purchase, not a subscription, is this alternate output going to be available? This was something key I was needing and saw EW7 did over EW6.
