[Equipment Configurations] Laptop specs?

After nursing along an old laptop for too long (Intel Core2Duo T6400 2.00Ghz 4 gig ram, GeForce 9600m GT video), time for church to get a new laptop, and upgrade from Easyworship 2009 to EasyWorship 6. Struggling on what to get that will work for now, and for a few years into the future, without overspending precious funds. Due to our layout, we will continue with a laptop. Our needs for now and into the immediate future are pretty simple. Using Matrox Dual head box to feed main projector and second monitor, no foldback, nothing too fancy for our small church in rural Iowa.
But enough background!
Found this on NewEgg: ASUS FZ50VW-NS51 Gaming Laptop 6th Generation 1 TB HDD 128 GB SSD Intel Core i5 6300HQ (2.30 GHz) 8 GB DDR4 MemoryNVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 2 GB GDDR5 15.6" Windows 10 Home 64-Bit.
It has Nvidia 960M, SSD boot drive, 8 gig RAM...really everything the EasyWorship specs say I should have EXCEPT the i5 is too slow (2.30 GHz). But, I'm guessing it will work just fine for our purposes, especially with the "better" graphics. We've been getting along with the old Core2Duo 2ghz, and a 10 year newer i5 has GOT to be a whole lot better, doesn't it?? Am I right, or am I being foolish? Prices is right at just $800, but if I have to spend a little more, I guess I can.
I would appreciate any input I can get before purchase. Thanks!
Larry

While the CPU on both of them is technically below the 2.4 GHZ specification it should work as long as you are not trying to play high definition videos.
Thank you for you warning advice.
We had originally aimed at a sub £450 ($600) price with an integrated DVD drive, but will obviously need to up our game.
We are only using 1024 x 768 native resolution and we don't need triple graphics output.

We also appear to have a different product range over here in the UK
Would either of these 2 with an I5 processor be able to cope:

Asus X556UB: Intel Core i5-6200U Dual-core 2.3GHz, Turbo boost up to 2.8GHz, 3MB Cache
8GB RAM + 1TB HDD, NVIDIA 940M, with 2GB DDR3 VRAM, Windows 10 Home 64bit

This LENOVO IdeaPad 510 with the same I5 processor, memory and HDD but a GT940MX graphics chip may be better.

Otherwise we may have to wait for the price to come down in the sales!
Hi!

Since it is below the required specifications I can't recommend it. How much are you able to invest in the laptop?

I found this one on BestBuy which meets the specs for $760. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-edge-2-15-6-2-in-1-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i7-8gb-memory-1tb-hard-drive-gunmetal/4525501.p?id=1219757972468&skuId=4525501:ez1quesx]Lenovo - Edge 2 15.6" 2-in-1 Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive - Gunmetal
Terry,
We are needing to purchase a laptop to replace an old PC which is struggling on Windows 7 and EW 2009.

With a limited budget on a set up that has a single output (no video fold-back) and no live video, would the following spec be sufficient for EW6?

Processor: Intel® Core™ i3-5005U Dual Core (2GHz, 3MB Cache)
Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
RAM: 8GB (DDR3 1600MHZ)
Hard Drive 1TB
Graphics: Dedicated (NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 940M with 2GB GDDR3 Dedicated Memory)

I know it’s below your minimum spec, but we have been getting by with a single core AMD 1.6Ghz with 1Gb RAM with EW 2009!
Hi!

That should work well. The i5 2.3 is actually above the Core2 2.4 CPU. You can take a look at the comparison chart below.
