[v7 General Discussion] Google / Youtube nonsense

Twice in the last 2 weeks I have used the web feature to look for a video. In the morning it has worked and in the evening it has come up with a message saying that to prevent bots I need to complete a captcha, but no captcha.

Is anyone else getting this?

You can also use a free 3rd party video converter. Any Video Converter Free works great.

If you don't want to download, you could try all your searching for videos in a browser like Firefox. Once you find the video you want, copy the URL and paste it into EW.
I have found 5K Player to work like a charm. Downloads from a lot more than just YT.

It previews videos and has a lot of other features. It is also free.

Just Google 5K Player, download, install and use.
Thanks rvadon,

All very helpful.
This one?

Downloaded just fine using

The only time I have a problem with either of the above is when YouTube makes a platform change and the addons haven't been updated yet. You can't use any of the downloader addons or extensions in Google Chrome or any of the Chromeum based browsers to download from YouTube.

You can place "pp" (without the quotes) between the e in youtube and the period (red in the link below)

This pp trick usually works for most YouTube videos. If none of the above works for you, or that is the incorrect video, post the URL to the video in question and I'll see what I can come up with.
Thanks.

I've tried various download helpers and they soon say that Firefox has disabled them for some reason or other.

The one I am using at the moment wouldn't recognise the video I was wanting even though it was the new Bishop of Dover saying Hi, hardly one that the source would want to keep private.
I find it's more reliable to download the youtube video to the hard drive and play if from there. I use the VideoDownloadHelper extension addon in FireFox or use https://y2mate.com/ to accomplish this.
